Lets all congratulate Ryan and Jayelen on being state qualifiers!
Though the fourth place finish for our boys and girls teams is certainly not what we were hoping for at the start of the season, I am focusing on: 1) We had five personal records set at the meet (Ryan Lewis, Ethan, McKay Aaron and Alexa). 2) Take a look at the improvement in times from the home meet on August 27 to the region meet on October 14. 13 of our 16 runners who ran the two races ran faster in October, and in some cases the improvement was dramatic. 3) We have a great team coming back next year with 15 of our 17 runners returning. We hate to lose Andrew and Mason, but the future is bright for cross country at Grand County HS!
Thanks to everyone for all of your hard work, commitment and dedication this season. Remember - winter running season with the Grand County Running Club starts Thursday November 6 and the Moab Turkey Trot is only 39 days away!
