A look back at the state cross country meet

Coach Christa recently forwarded to me these pictures that she took of our cross country runners who ran at the state cross country meet held in Salt Lake City on October 22. 

Our three state meet runners were:

1) Mercedes James: Mercedes ran the 3 mile course in a time of 21:25. She finished in ninth place out of 58 runners and was the second fastest freshman runner in 2A. Her ninth place finish earned her the honor of all-state.

2) Alena Geiser: Alena ran the 3 mile course in a time of 22:47. She finished in 23rd place out of 58 runners and was the fourth fastest freshman runner in 2A. 

3) Treyton Helquist: Treyton ran the 3 mile course in a time of 19:40. He finished in 37th place out of 63 runners. Treyton was the fourth fastest freshman in 2A.

Moab WInter Sun 10k

The cross country team volunteered to help at the finish line at the annual Moab Winter Sun 10k race on Saturday December 4. Volunteering were team members Brendon Henderson, Reyce Knutson, Skyler Johnson, Jessica Stucki and coach Randy Martin and his wife Racheal.

Treyton and Jackson at the finish line!

Here is an awesome picture of Treyton Helquist and Jackson Knowles running side by side at the finish of the Moab Turkey trot race. According to the race results, Treyton and Jackson finished in a tie, with each runner having a time of 23:03.57! Thanks to John Knowles for this great picture!
