Team Practice Schedule for August 21 - August 26

3 weeks down with 9 to go before region and state championships!

With the heat on please make sure and bring a water bottle with you to school and hydrate all day long! Your training will be much easier if you are hydrating!

Monday, August 21 @ 6:00 PM at GCHS auditorium. Fall sports parent/player meeting. After the school meeting, we will meet for our parent/player meeting in room 212. 

After the parent/player meeting (approximately 7:30), we meet on the HS track for a 6 mile run for varsity runners and a 4 mile run for  JV runners. We will be done by 9:00 PM.

Tuesday, August 22 @ 3:30 PM in the upstairs writing lab at the HS. Mandatory concussion impact testing for all team members. 

Tuesday, August 22 @ 6:30 PM at the Moab Golf Club. 2-mile warm-up followed by 5k effort repetitions: 6 x 4 minute with a 2-minute recovery between each rep. 1-mile cool down followed by 10 minutes of core work.

Wednesday, August 23 @ 6:30 PM at Rotary Park: 2-mile warm-up followed by (9) 60-second hill repeats up Sand Flats hill. We finish with a PACK 800 and followed by 10 minutes of core work.

Thursday, August 24 @ Sand Flats: 50 minute run (5-6 miles) for all runners.

Friday, August 25: Loyd's Lake Classic in Monticello. Team members will be excused at 12:20 PM to board the bus for Monticello. Bus leaves at 12:30 from in front of the HS. Race times are 4:00 for JV boys; 4:05 JV Girls; 4:45 Varsity Boys and 4:50 Varsity Girls. We should return to the High School at around 8:00 PM.

Saturday, August 26: Optional 8 mile Kokopelli Classic trail race in Loma, CO. This is a fun, challenging 8-mile trail run - no cost to team members. See any coach for more information. Race time is 7:30 PM - so plan on leaving at 5:15 am from the recreation center and returning to Moab at around noon. Bring money for a late breakfast after the race!
