State Championships

The state cross country championship race will be held on Wednesday October 23, 2013 at Sugarhouse Park in Salt Lake City. Race times are 11:30 for girls and 12:30 for boys.

The team will leave for Salt Lake City on Tuesday October 22 at 3:30 pm. We will be traveling in a school bus.

We will be staying at the Fairfield Inn in Provo on Tuesday night. When we arrive in Provo we will have dinner at the Olive Garden before checking into the hotel.

Wednesday morning we will have breakfast at the hotel and then leave for the meet at 9:00; arriving at Sugarhouse Park at around 9:45. After the meet we will have lunch in Salt Lake City and then head back to Moab. We should be back in Moab between 6:00 and 7:00.

 

The cost for the hotel room is $20 per person. Please pay this to Libby in the office before we leave for the meet on Tuesday.

Just a reminder - if you plan on leaving after the meet with your parents please have your parents write a note and give it to both the office and to a coach letting us know that you will not be traveling home with the team. Thanks!

Team Practice Schedule for October 14 - 19

Here is the practice schedule for our last full week of practice. We have the team dinner Monday night at 7:00 at the Canyonlands Best Western (behind Pasta Jays) and the region championships in Blanding at 4:00.

Monday October 14 @ 5:30 pm: Easy 2 mile run followed by a series of dynamic stretches on the track and strides on the football field. After practice the annual team will be held at the Canyonlands Best Western. Please do not forget to invite your parents!

Tuesday October 15: Region Championships in Blanding. Team members will be dismissed from school at 12:40 to board the bus for Blanding. The bus leaves at 1:00 sharp. First race is at 4:00 pm. We are not planning a stop in Blanding for dinner after the meet so please bring something to eat on the bus for after the meet.

Wednesday October 16 @ 5:30 pm: Easy recovery run of 2 - 3 miles.

Thursday October 17 @ 5:30 pm: To be determined

Friday October 18 @ 5:30 pm: To be determined

Region Championships

Despite the strong efforts of our Principal Mr. Hren to have the region championship race moved to Moab, the meet will be held in Blanding on Tuesday October 15. I will have more information on the layout of the course later.

Team Dinner

A team dinner will be held on Monday October 14 at 7:00 pm at the Best Western Canyonlands Inn (Next to Pasta Jays). Team members and their parents are invited as we toast and roast the seniors. Please let a coach know if you are able to attend. Thanks!
