Team Practice Schedule for October 1 - 6

Only seven practices before the region meet! For our final week of practice before region we will practice Monday - Thursday 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm. Friday we will practice after school from 3:00 - 4:30; and Saturday morning we will have a short practice from 8:00 am - 9:30 am.

Wednesday's practice will be a pizza run to Paradox Pizza for pizza so please bring your appetite!

Please make every attempt to make these practices! If you are unable to attend, please let me know. Thanks.

Team Schedule for September 17 - 22

We have a very busy week ahead for the cross country team.

Practice time has been moved up to 5:30 each evening as it is getting darker earlier. 

• Monday September 17: Team practice starting at 5:30 pm followed by a team talk with Julie Zaranek. Julie will talk to the team about mental tricks for fighting off fatigue and pain and surviving a bad race.
• Tuesday September 18: Team practice starting at 5:30 pm
• Wednesday September 19: Away meet at South Sevier. Team members will be dismissed from class at 11:10 for lunch and then board the bus for South Sevier at 11:30 am. We should return to Moab around 9:00 pm.
• Thursday September 20: Team practice at 5:30 pm. As part of the practice we will deliver flyers to the neighborhood around Swanny informing them of the Moab Autumn Run on Saturday morning.
• Friday September 21: Captain's practice after school. At 6:30 we will have a Pizza and a movie night at Jackson's house. We should be done around 8:30.
• Saturday morning September 22: Moab Autumn Run. All team members are required to be at Swanny City Park at 6:45 am to help set-up for the race. This race is a fund-raiser for the cross-country team.

BYU Autumn Classic Itinerary

This Saturday morning we run in the BYU Autumn Run. Here is the itinerary:

Leave: 4:30 Friday afternoon from the High School
Dinner: 5:30 pm in Green River. Subway or Arby's.

We will be staying Friday night at the:

Fairfield Inn
1515 S University Avenue
Provo, UT

Breakfast at the hotel: 7:00 am Saturday morning
Leave Hotel for BYU: 7:30 am Saturday morning
First Race: Freshman / Sophomore girls at 9:00 am
Last Race: Varsity Boys at 11:50 am
Awards: 12:30 pm
Lunch in Provo after the awards
Arrive back in Moab - around 5:00 pm Saturday

Moab Mini Triathlon

Congratulations to our six team members who participated in the Moab mini triathlon on Saturday September 8. Jackson Knowles came in 2nd place in the men's elite division, while Zhanna Rice won the women's open division and Skyler Johnson finished fifth in the men's open division.
